" I was a bit distracted if i am honest, there are a couple of training droids that will need repairs but im ok "
Brandon was wearing his dark navy robes that he had acquired from somewhere or another. He had ignored so many requests to wear the standard attire that people had just given up asking him.
" So whats the plan " he asked spinning his lightsaber on the tip of his finger
" Hey i am a master at blending in, dont worry about me " Brandon worked in silence throwing together all the stuff they would need for a trip. He was more excited than he would admit.
Later that day Brandon was waiting outside the shuttle, dressed in the street get up he wore back on Nar Shadda. It would be hard to distinguish him from any other person you would find hanging around space stations looking to get a free ride.
Les showed up similarly dressed as a man from Naboo. They would blend in perfectly. Les grinned at Brandon's appearance and nodded to his lightsaber, "Wear that under your clothes. Most people will be very weary if you have one of those hanging from your belt. Actually, here's a good lesson for the day. Practice placing it on your forearm under your sleeve and hold it there with the Force. Then shot it out when you want to use it."
Les held up his hand and demonstrated as his own lightsaber jumped from his wrist and into his hand. He smiled, "Small trick I learned from your grandfather."
Brandon mirrored this trick then smirked, he was trying to build up a mental image of his famous grandfather and these little details mde it easier, he was obviously a man who needed to be ready for a fight at any time.
Still smirking he boarded the shuttle and hopped into the co pilots chair. Without a word he began setting the ships flight sequence in order without the slightest hesitation. Looking straight forward he asked a question
" What else can you tell about the jedi that lived in the temple with you, what were they like?"
Les smiled at how jumpy and ready he was to get off. He would make a great Jedi if he could get he anger under control. He thought hard about the small details, about the family and friends so long ago.
"At one point there were many Jedi. There were only a handful of Jedi Masters, including your grandfather, my master, his wife, Jedi Master Rei, Tella, there were some knights as well. There was a Jedi Knight named Leelly who I had a thing for, but we were Jedi and it didn't go very far. All of them considered each of us family. We had to survive off of favors from friends we'd made during the Clone Wars. But it was Master Obi-Wan Kenobi who really brought us all together. He was the real reason we even survived. That and Master Yoda. My master was trained by Master Yoda for a long time and your grandfather helped him I guess. I was presumed dead at the time. I found this out in a small holovid I found a while back." Les primed the engines and boosted them as the ship began to roar to life. "But the one thing I can honestly say is that it was a small community of friends and family who loved each other very much. We cared for each other and tried our best to keep up our training as we hid from the Emperor and Vader."
Brandon nodded taking it all in, he wished he had grown up in such an enviornment. Still from what he had heard about his grandfather he had probally killed his first man at ounger than 10. For a moment Brandon thought back to that moment, remembered standing over the body of the guard with his small shiv he has fashioned out of scrap metal. He could remember the sound the blood made on the metallic floor.....
Shaking his head slightly he steered the shuttle out of the docking station with ease, once they were in orbit and he was setting the co ordinates for hyperdrive Brandon spoke again..
" Is it true that Master Skywalker killed the Emperor?"
Les's head shook from side to side and he grinned slightly, "Sort of. He helped influence Darth Vader to remember who he truly was and doing so, Darth Vader killed the Emperor. If it hadn't been for Master Skywalker's influence, the Emperor would probably still be alive. But Master Skywalker felt the good in his father, his real father, who loved his son very much. He called upon that figure to help Master Skywalker in his time of need and he did. And for that, Darth Vader ceased to exist and Anakin Skywalker came back to life."
Brandon nodded, they two of them passed the rest of the journey talking and Brandon drilled Les with question after question about the old ways, the force, his past and everything else he could think of.
When they made the leap out of hyperspace les was almost dissapointed as he had been having fun.
" Were here Les, place looks like being a dump to be honest"
Les half grinned and got clearance from Naboo to land. As they landed, he pulled a jacket on and tucked his lightsaber into his sleeve. Just as he was about to open the door he stopped and looked to Brandon, "Before we go I have to warn you that we may find nothing at all. There may be no leads, no directions, nothing. Also, if we end up talking to anyone, let me do the talking. I might be able to talk our way into some information but we'll probably have to talk to some kind of figure head of some kind. You ready?"
" Roger, Roger " replied brandon with a smirk. Attaching his own lightsabers to his wrists, not with the force but with a small metalic contraption he had been building on the journey. Small cylindrical clasps with coils in them that would launch the blades into his hands with a motion of his wrist. He could do it with the force but he liked gadgets.
Stepping off the ship he pulled up his hood, the sun was bright and he was not used to it. He grew up on Nar Shadda where the Sun was the large street lights. He never really liked being out in the direct sun, he felt exposed. Like a bug waiting to be squashed.
He stopped walking, his smart as comment dying in his mouth. " I feel something, or... i think i do. Its strange. There is something. I can feel it. "
Les stopped for a moment and nodded as he stretched out his feelings. "I feel it too. It's another Force User. Be on your guard Brandon. I can't sense if it's good or evil. And even if it is good, they may not want to come with us anyways."
Les looked down at his wrists and saw his lightsabers sticking out slightly, "Your sabers are showing. Looks like your new contraptions need a bit of tweaking." And started off down the street with a smile.
He nodded to smiles and waved at hands passing by. Naboo was a very friendly place but it was also a place weary of guests. As many smiles and waves as there were, there were just as many scowls and hushed voices. Most were just curious. Les had strapped a blaster to his hip, to better fit in with the idea that they were infact just smugglers from affair or something similar. He hated blasters, but they did have their usefulness. Uncivilized though.
Les stopped for a moment and stepped into a shadow and motioned for Brandon to do the same. He had forgotten that this planet was still under the Imperial Remnant control. There was a patrol of storm troopers making their way down the street towards them. He turned to Brandon, "Take your hood down and don't say a word to them. We don't need to be drawing any attention to ourselves."
" People should know when they are defeated " muttered Brandon glaring at the stormstroopers as he towered his hood and pushed his sabers further up his sleeves. He yearned to say something to spark a fight confodent in his ability to destroy them in a heart beat. Still though he mastered himself and strode on without changing his pace, though he straightened his shoulders and his stance became slighty more hostile.
The stormtroopers marched toward them as they began and as they began to pass, the lead trooper stopped and turned. "You there!" He said in his mechanical voice. "Stop!"
Les and Brandon both stopped and Les turned, "Yes sir? Anything I can help you with?"
"Let me see your identification." Said the trooper and the rest of the them began to move back and take position behind the trooper.
Les nodded and reached in and took out his ID. As he handed it over, he waved his hand at the trooper and said, "This is good enough."
The trooper took it, looked at it for a moment, then said, "This is good enough. How about the boy?"
Again Les waved his hand and said, "The boy is my son. He is with me and needs no identification."
The trooper looked at Brandon then Les and said, "Yeah you're right. Children don't need identification. Move along and get out of here before I change my mind."
Les smiled and nodded, "Yes sir. Thank you sir."
Les began to walk again as he heard the march of feet behind him and he smiled, "Sometimes playing into their ego's is the easiest thing to do to get out of a situation like that. Remember, let the weak minded hear what they want to hear and give them a small nudge with the Force." He pulled out the 'ID card' and handed it to Brandon. It was a playing card.
Les grinned at the comment about the droids. He remembered many times how he had done the same. "Well we'll have to take my shuttle. We'll pack it full of the things we'll need and just take off from there. We'll start at Naboo. Last I heard my old master lived there with his family. I assume he's dead, but there may be some trace or some person who might have heard something or known something about him." He started to walk in the hall they were in, "Oh and we'll have to dress like commoners. We don't need to be calling to much attention to ourselves if we can help it. That means only use your Force abilities if you have to. K?"
